["How To" Help](https://help.groomer.io/how-to-help?hsLang=en) # How do I set up services with variations? ## Learn how to get the most out of Groomer.io with services and variations using Groomer.io's smart breed logic. This guide will show you how to create services by using variations, which is a unique feature that tailors to your grooming business. Groomer.io has a stored list of all breeds defined by their size and coat types. This allows you to set your pricing specific to "Small Breeds" versus "Large Breeds". You can even define these further such as "Small Breeds with a Long Coat." This logic allows you to add a breed to each pet, and their specific pricing will always be used for their appointments.  Not only does this save time and ensure proper pricing, but it also simplifies the online booking process for your customer. Instead of having a long list of services to scroll through, they would only see your main services listed, such as Full Groom, Bath, and Spa Day.  ### Add a New Service To start creating your variations, you will need to create your base service.  -From the** More** page,  select **Services.** -Select the red "**+**" in the top right corner. -Give your service a title such as "Full Groom" or "Bath." -Press **Next** to add an optional abbreviation that is used throughout the app. -Press **Next** to add a description of your service. Customers can view this description from your Online Scheduling page. -Press Next to add a $0 price to the Service Folder -Press **Next **to select a duration for this service. You can always adjust this manually per pet. -Press **Next** to select yes to Show on the Calendar, this will allow you to see a quick overview of how many Full Grooms or Baths on a given day to help avoid overbooking. This is where you will see your abbreviations for each service. You may choose to keep this option off for something small like a Nail Trim. -Press **Next** to complete your Service setup, and then select **Done** to save. ### Adding Variations Variations are the breakdown of your Main Service. This is where you will apply your pricing and other specific details. -Tap on the Service you just created, and select **Variations.** Or tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the far right of the Service, and tap on the red **+ **in the top right corner. -Tap on **Size** to create your first Variation. For Example, we will choose Small, and leave the option open to "Any" Coat type. This is telling our system that any *Small Breed* with *Any Coat type *will cost $X.XX. You can set the price to $55, for example.
